A Personal Message From Ty A. Magee, Secretary, Beta Mu Colony, Sigma Pi Fraternity International:
Regarding the Progress and Potential of Sigma Pi, Beta Mu Colony
Hi Guys,
My name is Ty Magee, secretary of the Beta Mu Colony of Sigma Pi Fraternity, International. Some of the fraternities on campus have a reputation for being unfair or implementing unbecoming policies. I'm here to tell you that revolutionizing the Greek System here at Ole Miss has been the dream of many individuals. Well, the revolution is here. Sigma Pi is a completely different organization than most fraternities on campus. We strive for self-improvement, on the behalf of our individual selves, and for the sakes of our Sigma Pi brothers. Over the past few months, I've grown very close to my brothers. I wouldn't change my decision to join Sigma Pi for anything. It was the best decision I've made since I made the decision to attend Ole Miss. I'm sure you're tired of reading my praises of Sigma Pi, but if you're still reading, then I'd like to get to the part that where you come in.
What can Sigma Pi do for you?
· A brotherhood of guys who won't judge you on the standards of other fraternities.
· A chance at winning scholarships.
· Access to Sigma Pi parties and brotherhood events.
· A chance to better yourself, both academically and personally.
· A better financial deal than other fraternities, with less than half the dues of some fraternities.
· Automatic Founding Father status. When we become a chapter, your name will be on our charter, for all future Sigma Pi Beta Mu members to see.
· A chance at leadership. Currently two spots on the Executive Council have been left vacant, and anyone who is pinned into the fraternity will be eligible to campaign.
Guys, just to be on the level with you, Sigma Pi has been a truly amazing experience. As we continue to grow, we hope you will consider pledging Sigma Pi. One semester ago, we were an unorganized group of guys with goals that current fraternities and other detractors said we would never achieve. Now, we've won first place in the homecoming float contest, won the Alpha Omicron Pi Strike-Out Arthritis philanthropy event, held several popular events, and are currently in the process of acquiring the former Delta Kappa Epsilon house, marking an important achievement in our strive to be a new presence on campus.
In conclusion guys, here's our situation: We're making our best effort to be a revolutionary fraternity. An organization based on honor, rather than hazing. A brotherhood forged in service, rather than superiority. A fraternity steeped in excellence, rather than exclusion. The revolution is here. Will you be a part of it?
Sincerely,
Ty A. Magee
